IoT wearable concept that continuously captures & analyses the user’s voice throughout the day, visualising their spoken behaviour in a mobile app - like a Fitbit for how you communicate

My Role

Co-Inventor - Creative Direction - Product Management & Design - User Research - UX/UI Design - Software & Hardware Prototyping - Audio Analysis Software Development

Context

Project conceived in my self-driven, exploratory innovation team at Dolby, with a mandate to research & develop untapped consumer-facing experiences (in contrast to the existing technology-licensing business) powered by the company's world leading audio/visual expertise & IP

Driven by a fascination with early wearable experiences, I partnered with a member of the Speech Audio Research team to explore ideas around how you could capture, analyse & visualise speech behaviour & how that could be expressed in a consumer facing product

Challenges

How to present speech analysis that leads to user desirable behaviour change?

How to create an experience that works in concert with the limitations & potential of speech recognition?

Output

Designed & developed functional mobile app & hardware prototypes with speech analysis, to explore, validate & internally communicate product concept

Staged series of product & execution pitches to executive leadership
